The CrossFit Motto

Located in Hemet Ca, our facility is about fitness reborn. Our motto..

1. I will promise to do my best. My best will vary from day to day, from hour to hour, from minute to minute. But in that minute, I will do the very best that I can.

2. Lactic acid is my friend. The wind is my friend. Anything that opposes me is actually helping me to become stronger. If I had no opposition, I would be weak.

3. If I can run, I run. If I have to walk, I walk. When I am forced to crawl, I crawl. And then I rest and live to fight another day.

4. I fear no man but I fear my workout. If I don’t fear my workout, it isn’t hard enough.

5. I may puke. I may cry. But I will not quit. Ever.

6. I never cheat. There is no honor in cheating. What joy can there be in a victory I did not earn?

7. The workout missed is the opportunity missed. I will not cheat myself of the opportunity to become a better athlete and person.

8. I understand the value of the push-up, the pull-up, the sit-up, the squat, and the deadlift. Just as there are a million ways to make chicken, so too are there a million ways to squat, sit up, pull up, push up, and deadlift.

9. I will give everything I have. And then I will find more within myself.

10. I don’t complain. Complaining is for crybabies. There are 250 babies born every minute worldwide. I will leave the crying to them and I will soldier on.

11. I will bite off challenges, spit out results, and beg for more.

“I have been involved in the world of fitness since the age of 13. Prior to the joining the USMC, I played high school football, wrestling, track, field, soccer, and trained in Muay Thai and boxing. After high school, I joined the USMC. During that time, I held the highest physical fitness awards for my infantry unit. It was not until 2011, when my high school friend, Neal Maddox, introduced me to the world of CrossFit. Neal invited me to the Home Depot Center to see him compete. At this time, I had no idea what this “CrossFit” thing was. All I knew was that my longtime friend is kicking ass and taking names. As soon as I walked into the Tennis Stadium and witnessed the Final Event, I finally understood what “CrossFit” was. I was immediately sold. I love CrossFit. I thank Neal for this life-changing experience. Anytime I see my buddy compete, I get emotional. I seen where this guy came from when we were kids. To see CrossFit bring him where he is today…make me very proud. I love CrossFit and the community that comes with. After getting into CrossFit, I introduced my wife and kids to the same experiences I was having. Now my wife loves CrossFit….sometimes more than me. I only have one regret….not starting CrossFit sooner.

I have everything I could ever ask for. My wife gives me the love and support I need to continue striving towards my goals. Without her, I would be lost. Now that my kids love CrossFit, I have it all (wife, 3 boys, house, and an awesome place to work everyday). I love changing lives. Neal once told me, “I get to do what I love. When I get to do what I love…it’s not work.”

“My name is Marcos Ortega. I’m an active duty marine, working as the assistant marine officer instructor at San Diego State University. My 15 years of service have taken me through a lot of training, which includes, combat conditioning, nutrition, and mental readiness. I started crossfitting to get away from the old treadmill, bi’s and tri’s training the marine corps pushes on us. I discovered CrossFit by watching videos and once I started at a real box, I was hooked.”

Jason Showalter

“Hello, My name is Jason Showalter. I have been given the great honor to be a CrossFit Coach here at Renatus. I have been doing some sort of Fitness from a young age. Everything from Football, Wrestling, Baseball, and Hockey. I joined the Army in 1996 and currently still on Active Duty as an Operations Sergeant Major. I have held many MOS’s (Jobs) while in the Military that have allowed me to advance in the Military Career. Those include Transportation, Logistics, Recruiting, Operations, Small Group Leader, and much more. I have held every leadership position as an enlisted Soldier from Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Sergeant Major. CrossFit was introduced to me by a friend in 2013 and I have not looked back. I always tell people I have started to drink the “Kool Aid” everyone calls CrossFit. After joining CrossFit, I introduced my Wife Beth to the world of CrossFit and love watching her excel in the sport plus enjoy working out with her. I really enjoy the community that CrossFit brings and the members that I call friends. I have coached youth Soccer, Baseball, and Hockey both youth and High School.”

“Patrick Cullen-Carroll is a retired Physical Education Teacher (37 years).

Pat has a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from California State University in Los Angeles and a Masters Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University. He taught and coached in California and Arizona. Coach Cullen-Carroll has coached Football and Strength Conditioning at the high school and college level during his career. Pat has been a competitive Power Lifter and has coached Olympic weightlifters from the beginner level to the International platform.

Coach Cullen-Carroll has been involved in teaching USA Weightlifting Certifications for over 15 years. He feels that it is important to give back to the sport of Weightlifting by continuing to teach coaches and athletes.

Coach Cullen-Carroll is the Chair of the Executive Board of the Youth Special Interest Group of the NSCA and is the Chair of Coaches/Education/Program Committee of USA Weightlifting

Weightlifting has played a major role in Pat’s life since he was very young. He started lifting for sports when he was 14 years old. He realized as young player that weightlifting is not only fun but also plays a very important role in athletic development. Coach says there are two important reasons for an athlete to be in the weight room; 1. Improve performance, 2.  Minimize injury. Stronger athletes perform better, get injured less, and recover faster.”
